Last week, I had the opportunity to watch my son’s basketball team as they headed out to play two teams in West Wendover, a town near Nevada’s eastern border with Utah and the iconic Bonneville Salt Flats. For a little context, Nevada is a massive state, and no, Reno and Vegas are not neighbors!
As the bus rolled out, the team’s chatter revealed a troubling mindset. They were already talking about how “great” the opposing team was and how our team hadn’t beaten them in years. Before the game even started, they were defeated.
Now, I’m not their coach. But as your coach—because you’re here reading this—I want to step in and say this:
Your vision has to be strong. Your passion has to be there. And most importantly, you have to THINK STRONG. THINK BIG. THINK LIKE YOU’VE WON.
When it comes to breaking a streak, shattering limitations, and achieving greatness, it all starts in your mind. If you want 2025 to be the year you go big, you need to believe you’re already there.
So let me ask: Is your vision for 2025 bold enough? Are you dreaming big enough? Or is your current vision just a safe upgrade of what you’ve already done?
Here’s how to make 2025 your Joe Namath year—the year you dream big, go big, and win big:
1. Write Your Vision in Bold, Positive Words
Don’t hold back. Put pen to paper and articulate what you truly want to achieve. Make it vivid. Make it bold. Don’t write “I want to grow my business.” Write, “I’m leading a thriving, impactful business that’s doubling its revenue and transforming lives.”
2. Review Your Vision Every Day
This isn’t a one-and-done activity. Keep your vision where you can see it daily—on your desk, your bathroom mirror, or even your phone’s lock screen. Say it out loud. Feel it. Believe it.
3. Set Weekly Goals That Scare (and Excite) You
Dreams without action are just wishes. Every week, set clear, measurable goals that push you out of your comfort zone. Small steps lead to big wins.
4. Write Your Success Story—Before It Happens
Imagine this: It’s 2025, and your story is being shared around dinner tables. People are talking about how you didn’t just dream big—you went big. Write that story now. What do you want to be known for?
5. Embrace a Winning Mindset
Just like my son’s basketball team needed to believe they could win before stepping on the court, you need to believe in your success. Be your own biggest cheerleader.
Your vision deserves an upgrade because you deserve an upgrade. Stop playing small. Think bigger, dream bigger, and act bigger. Make 2025 the year you become the unstoppable leader everyone talks about.
